Life happened and I fell behind in my blogging again. Guess that happens from time to time, but here's a huge photo-dump to help us remember what a great month it was!
As the weather warmed up we started having picnics outside. LOTS of picnics. The kids love it! |
Bethany has finally figured out how to tilt her head back to get a drink, but she still prefers to lie on the ground with her sippy cups. Emmett thinks it's fun to drink like Bethany, so this is how I frequently find them. :) |
We had a big box for a while that the kids loved to play in. Most of the time they sat in it together they were kicking, shoving, and screaming at each other, so I'm glad I caught this rare moment on camera! |
I know this is a terrible, awful, blurry picture, but I love it anyway. Just look at those teeth! |
Bethany loves to dress up in this cute little ladybug outfit we got from some friends. |
Emmett doesn't nap very often anymore, but when he does, I usually find him on the couch. |
Bethany loves to help me dust the house. She's very good at taking care of her own little kitchen. |
Emmett is a great helper too. He runs around each room and helps me vacuum with the "popper". Usually this involves ramming the popper into my real vacuum cleaner and playing chicken the entire time while I'm trying to clean the carpet. It slows things down a bit, to say the least, and I don't get those neat and tidy triangle patterns in my carpet, but the screaming and laughing from both Emmett and Bethany is so much fun I kind of love it. |
Enjoying another picnic |
Watering/drowning the tiny radish seedlings. |
It's hiking season! Thank goodness Bethany still enjoys riding in the backpack or we'd never make it five feet along the trail for all the dandelions and leaves she wants to pick up! When Emmett was this age there was no way he would put up with the backpack. |
We do let Bethany out and let her explore now and then, but she's usually happy enough to get back in the backpack when it's time. |
One of the great things about living in Utah is the number of small hikes less than 10 minutes from our house. |
Adam's Trail leads to a waterfall, but we've never seen it. Instead, we always stop at this creek and throw rocks into the water before turning around to go home. |
The water table Grandma and Grandpa Gasser gave us when Emmett was two is still getting a lot of great use! Everytime Bethany plays with it, she comes away a muddy mess. It's one of the greatest and best loved toys we have! |
Our neighbor down the street gave us this old "play cube". It's breaking in several places and missing a slide, but plenty sturdy and the kids don't care in the least. They LOVE it! It's called the "fort" now and we roll it off the patio every day for them to climb on and crawl around in. We have such good friends and generous neighbors around us to think of our family as their children outgrow old toys! |
I love anything that encourages my children to climb and be "brave". |
Love this sweet boy! |
After a bit of encouraging, Bethany finally decided to come explore the fort. |
It's hard to tell, but Bethany is whining/crying here. My poor chicken-hearted babies! |
Brave girl finally made it into the cube! |
Emmett asked me to take a picture of his feet. So I did. :) |
LOVE. |
Bethany loves to draw crescents. She scribbles on the patio, then stands up and screams: "CRESCENT!" |
Leave it to Bethany to locate every hair that's in our carpet.... and then eat it. |
Emmett works hard to teach Bethany how to make silly faces and poop jokes. |
Bethany is a very fast learner... :) | | |
