Lamb and Wool Festival

Uncle Craig took us to Lehi for the Lamb & Wool Festival. We had such a great time!

We all loved going on a wagon ride with real horses pulling the wagon. Casey was especially adventurous walking all around Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point only a couple weeks after having hernia surgery. He did remarkably well, but I'm sure he was glad to sit down!

 

Bethany surprised me by being brave enough to crawl through the "worm" tunnels. It got a little scary when other kids started climbing through as well, but she made it out again in one piece and I didn't have to in and get her.

Emmett was having a great time on the wagon ride, too! :)

I tried so hard to get both kids in this picture, but it never worked out right. So here's Bethany, smiling all by herself in front of the tulips.

We got to watch a sheepdog working hard on the farm. It was amazing to see how it responded to its master's whistle to direct the sheep exactly where they needed to be.

Bethany loved being held by Craig. Whenever he'd walk away from her she'd hold out her arms and call, "Craig! Craig!"

Pony rides!!

Look at the joy on Bethany's face here! When she's at home her favorite toy is the rocking horse, but riding a real pony was absolute heaven! She shrieked and squealed the entire time. Well, almost the entire time. Do you see Daddy walking next to her? His job was to make sure she didn't fall off. She was doing such a good job holding onto the saddle that he got his phone out to take a couple of pictures and PLOP! She toppled sideways off the horse into the mulch. It looked even worse than it sounds. Pretty much everyone standing around the corral covered their mouths with their hands as Bethany went down. She wasn't hurt, but she was thoroughly scared and screamed for fifteen minutes straight. Daddy felt like a heel. It was an all around sad event, but we all survived and I don't think it's hurt her love of horses any. :)

 

There was a little baby lamb that ran around the farm and let people pet it. It was only a week old and so soft!

Most of the other lambs were in the corral with their mommies.

We got to watch a sheep get shorn and then everyone was invited up to go pet the sheep. 

It was amazing to watch the handler toss the sheep around while he was getting the wool off. The animal was so submissive and let him pick her up and drag her around.

We all had such a wonderful time! Thank you, Craig, for being so good to our family!
