Getting Spoiled

So being pregnant has some definite perks. For one, people are really nice to you-- even total strangers. I've never had so many doors opened for me or seats given up for me as I do now. My students often police each other for me, yelling "Hey! You can't treat her like that-- SHE'S PREGNANT!" if someone gets out of line. Last night I had to stay late at school to rearrange my room, and the custodian helped me lift and move all the heavy things and even walked me to my car because it was dark when I left.

When I got home, Casey had fixed me a gourmet meal of split pea soup (made from scratch I should add) with an incredible spinach salad and homemade salad dressing to top it off! I love being married to a man who can cook! It tasted divine, but sadly sometimes when I'm tired I still get a little nauseous. And did he get upset? Nope, he just cleaned up the kitchen and then put me to bed... after rubbing my aching feet, stomach, and back. What an amazing guy!

Sometimes people are so nice to me that I'm afraid I'm going to become horribly lazy and demanding! So today I'm going to try to get a few things done around the house. I'm going to:

-Straighten up and get rid of all the piles of papers around the house and in the office.
-Clean the bathrooms!
-Clear out all the yucky old food from the refrigerator.
-Vacuum the floor throughout the house.
-Wash and FOLD laundry. (I don't know why, but I really hate to fold laundry...)
-Grade homework and tests.
-Surprise Casey by making HIM dinner for once!

The good thing is, since I'll be at home all day, I can do all these things on my own schedule: Work a little, nap a little, work a little, sit a little, etc. And if I don't get to everything on my list, well that's okay too because just so long as I can accomplish a few things it might help ease my mind about becoming a lazy moocher! :)

That's a long to do list. I'm glad you're planning on taking breaks during the day.

Well, I didn't get it all done... but I managed to cross off the bathrooms, vacuuming, most of the laundry, dinner, and a little bit of grading! Not too bad! I even mopped the kitchen floor, which was not on the list. :) I was exhausted, but felt much better about myself!

Well done! I remember paying my brother to clean my bathroom when I got super big--bending over, not so awesome, eh? I am proud of you :D And very proud of Casey. And good for you for noticing the perks of pregnancy while you're going through it. I didn't do that very well my first time :P
