It turns out that turning 30 felt quite remarkable, but 31 is just kind of ... hmm... well... meh. What really made it spectacular was having a husband like Casey to turn it into something spectacular for me. LOVE HIM.
When I woke up in the morning I went downstairs to get Bethany her bottle of milk. I opened the fridge and found this:
Then I when I went to get breakfast ready for everyone, I found this:
And next to it was this wonderful card:

I especially like how Casey included a close-up image of his nose. :) |

All my fabulous presents put together. Casey also got me an 8GB flash drive and a small container of mints. |

But the fanciest and nicest gift was this beautiful pendulum clock that
Casey found at a thrift shop. It's GORGEOUS. I love having a beautiful
clock to look at. It just makes our house feel so much more like a real
home. |

Emmett made me a special "birthday tower" and we kept it in a place of
honor, moving it from room to room so we could look at it all day. And
throughout our day together, Emmett would continually stop what he was
doing to ask, "Mom, are you having a nice birthday?" It made me so
happy! |

My mom and dad as well as my mother and father in law sent me cards with a little bit of birthday money. After seeing how nice the clock looked in our family room, I was dying to add a little more decor. I went to a craft store and bought the sign, which I'm a little nervous about, but it fit the budget. Then I went and got a bunch of picture frames from Walmart. Obviously we still need to print a couple more photos before it will look just right, but you get the idea. Our living room now looks so much better than it used to. It's almost as if a real family lives here now... :) |
It was a great birthday and grateful for another year of blessings in my life. Thanks everyone who called and remembered me. I love you!
