After all the waiting and worrying, she finally did it! Bethany is officially on the move!
Everybody got involved in getting Bethany to crawl, even Darwin. He would lay down just out of Bethany's reach.
And when she finally managed to scoot her way over to him, he'd get up and move two feet further away.
This made Bethany very angry, of course, but it also gave her great motivation to keep trying! As it turns out, the best way to keep this baby moving is often to make her mad.
She's been getting up and rocking on all fours for a couple of weeks now and has been able to move from her tummy to a sitting position, so we knew it had to be soon. Casey and I worked with her a lot, and I wore holes into the knees of my last non-holey pair of jeans. Oh well.
And what provided the final motivation to get her up and crawling? Something she shouldn't have of course-- a pencil. (I don't know what is happening to Casey's head in this photo, so please excuse his semi-transparency)
And now a couple of videos for the Bethany fans reading this blog. :)
