Bethany turned 11 months old yesterday. Amazing, isn't it?? She adds the sparkle and zest to our home. At this point she knows when she is being funny. She and Emmett will "babble" back and forth. Usually Emmett starts it and then she will copy everything baby sound that he makes for her. As far as words, she does a pretty good imitation of the words "wiggle", "giggle", and "tickle", although sometimes it can be hard to tell them apart. She also loves to exclaim, "HI!" to anyone who walks into the room. Bethany gives high fives now and explores all new object by stabbing them with the tip of her thumb. She loves books and will squeal and flip through the pages with excitement. When you get to the end of the book she screams her banshee shriek to let you that it is not acceptable for the book to be finished. About a month ago she finally figured out how to feed herself and she is now thoroughly addicted to the little baby "puffs" we purchase at the store. Going outside is always a thrill and she squeals and flaps her arms every time we open a door. Bethany also looks forward to going with me into Emmett's room each afternoon to wake him up from his nap and giggles and squawks when she sees him. She is making progress toward crawling! She moves from a sitting position into a crawling position, but so far she only rocks in place and doesn't go anywhere on all fours. When she needs to go somewhere she now rolls and scoots to get there, though sometimes it can take a while. My favorite is when she flips onto her back and inches backward by bouncing her bottom up and down! We still haven't seen any teeth yet, but I keep watching her bottom gums because they look swollen and stretched. In the meantime, I'm trying to soak up all the sweet gummy smiles that I can!

Her hair is long enough in the front that I can put it into little piggy tails. She screams bloody murder while I do it, but she looks so cute that it's worth the struggle-- just not every day! |

Bethany is the master of silly faces! This is the best face she makes and she does it constantly. It has taken us forever to capture it on camera because it only lasts for a few seconds and it is hard to predict. I'm so glad that I finally caught it! |

The day that she finally figured out how to bring food to her own mouth! What an exciting moment! :) |

"Do you see the puff, Mom?" |

My little cutie. |

Happily reading a book in bed with a serious case of "bed-head". |
