4th of July 2012

Today was a GREAT day. We left the house together as a family and actually went somewhere! And although I was tired at the end of our outing, I did a lot of walking and never needed the wheelchair. :)

First we went to the park. The slides were too hot for Emmett to enjoy, but we got a few good pictures hiding in the shade of the picnic area.

Then we went to Cabellas to look at all the fish and stuffed animals. It was much better than being outside in the heat. I'm not sure who was more impressed with the size of the fish in the aquarium, Emmett or Casey! :)

We showed Emmett all of the stuffed animals. He was a little scared of the water buffalo, but did very well otherwise.

I love that there are benches throughout the store and I was able to sit down as often as I needed to rest. I even tackled two flights of stairs with relative ease! I felt very proud of myself.

We ate lunch at the Cabella's restaurant. Emmett had a hot dog and Casey and I enjoyed our elk hamburgers, though to be honest, we couldn't really tell much difference in the taste.

We spent the remainder of the day sitting in the shade in Bev and Jim's backyard, watching Emmett play and just being together. It was perfect.
