It's fun to lay here in bed, typing on the computer, and watch my belly bounce up and down. I think we've decided on a name for our little girl: Bethany Anne Sledge. I think it's sweet and perfect.
Last week I got on the computer and ordered some little baby girl clothes. Some of them arrived today. They are so tiny and adorable! It's so fun to pick out cute little clothes with ruffles, frills, and polka dots. I'm in heaven preparing for a girl, even though it's hard to imagine having anything except a boy. That will change the moment I see her though. When Mom came she gave me a few other cute little girl outfits and we got some other clothes from Bev and a visiting teacher. Bethany will be wearing plenty of her older brother's used clothes, but it is so fun to see the little girl stuff begin to pile up!
Having Mom in town has been a Godsend. Really. The day she arrived we threw Emmett at her and rushed to the hospital. I was in pain. A lot of it. But things are much better now. One of the best things to come of our trip is that we seem to have discovered that I am allergic to latex. The doctors switched to a silicone catheter and, lo and behold, that evil and persistent rash that has covered my body and continued to spread over the last several weeks is almost gone after only three days! Not only that, but my pain levels and abdominal sensitivity seem to be improving.
The bad news is, I have a very aggressive infection. Also, I'm bleeding.
I'll go to the urologist tomorrow and see what they can figure out. I think the bleeding is not related to the baby, but we'll see. My appointments with the urologist terrify me because they almost always find ways to torture me.
While I'm there, I'm going to focus on those ribbons, bows, and cute little clothes I mentioned. I can't wait for the rest of them to get here and for the chance to wash them, sort them, and hang them in the closet.

Oh my goodness Lisa! I keep checking your blog hoping to find that things have improved, but it seems that it all just keeps getting harder and harder. I am praying that these next few months go quickly for you and that you and baby Bethany (I LOVE the name) are healthy and fine when it is all done. I want to help if I can. When does your mom leave? I have been wanting to call you, but I didn't put your number in my phone. I have a new phone number, it is 801 386-1655. Really you should call me, even if you just want someone to talk to.
=) Girl clothes!!! In the words of Dan, "Heaven help us if we ever have a girl!" I hope you're doing ok sweet Lisa!
And also, cute name!
