School is going wonderfully this year. My students aren't the demons I had last year. At least, not so far. And I'm actually beginning to enjoy what I do for the first time since I started teaching. I suppose that's to be expected, seeing as how stressful the internship was and that I spent my entire first year teaching throwing up constantly and dealing with other pregnancy woes. It's amazing how much more positive I feel about my students and my job now that I have the energy to match them once more.
Emmett is wonderful. Sometimes I feel sad that I'm not with him more. I only see him for a few hours each day and then it's time to put him to bed. I'm worried that the neighbor he stays with is getting to know him better than I do. But Casey is wonderful at reminding me that by continuing to work I am being a good mom and helping to take care of Emmett's needs. I'm sure that with a little patience things will all come together in the end and we will be able to have me stay at home someday. In the meantime, I'm so grateful for the blessings and security that we have.
Here are a few more photos of our sweet monster. He's started to eat like a machine these days! He just can't get enough food in his belly it seems, and we think it's wonderful-- I would love it if he gets a little chunky. :) He's now laughing, giggling, growling and smiling all the time. We're having terrible luck catching it on camera, since the flash always distracts him, but take our word for it, he's adorable! He really started playing with his toys last week for the first time and can bring them up to his mouth to suck on them. His favorite toys are, of course, his burp rags. Go figure. He also loves to sit up like a big boy in his bumbo chair.
