Curtis, Carolyn and Company came for a visit and arrived on July 5th. They drove through the night to get here and we'd kept our own children up late for fireworks the night before, so everyone was a little off. It didn't stop us from having lots of fun.

The Kaysville sprinkler park is less than two minutes down the street from us, so we got everyone ready and went out to play. Bethany takes a while to warm up to the water, but once she does she has a blast. |

Reed had fun for most of the time. The water was a little new for him. I was impressed with how brave Megan was! She even stood under the big bucket and had cold water dumped on her head. It helped that it was over 100 degrees, but she was the only one who had the courage to do it! |

Emmett loved getting to hang out with his big, cool cousins. |
Claire wanted nothing to do with any of us or our silly sprinkler park. She had more important things to do, like take care of her baby. Someday she is going to be a very devoted mommy! :) |

That evening we set off some of our own fireworks in our cul de sac. All of Curtis' kids were too scared to use sparklers or help set off the fireworks. It probably didn't help when Emmett burned himself by pinching the end of a sparkler that had just gone out and was still glowing red. He blistered up pretty good. That was our only injury for the night, however. Unless you count the ladybug that Bethany tried to eat. I fished it out of her mouth, but it was already dead. Bethany screamed for at least 10 minutes because I ruined her fun. |
Emmett loved helping his daddy and Uncle Curtis set off fireworks. |
The best part was running away. Emmett made the best faces as he ran! |
Reading stories before church. I couldn't get Emmett to get out of Bethany's face for the picture, but she's there on Carolyn's lap. |
The kids were devastated when everyone left. It was such a short visit, only two days. We tried to tell them that we'd get to see everyone again in another month, but it didn't matter. A month may as well be forever in their minds. |
You've got to admit, as upset as they were, it's pretty funny. |
