So I'm a little bit late in posting about Halloween this year, but both kids are in bed and so I'm finally getting around to it!
Emmett loved pumpkin carving this year, although he was a little hesitant to get his hands messy. |
He kept sticking his head in the pumpkin and exclaiming, "Mmm!! Pumpkin smells so yummy!" |
Bethany wasn't much of a participant this year. It was a little disappointing since we were expecting her to do all the carving for us. |
Emmett's costume was a "mad scientist". We put gel in his hair and spiked it too, so he kept running around the house shouting, "Emmett's got CRAZY hair!" |
Rather than make Bethany wear Emmett's old hotdog costume, we stuck her in a "silly monster" onsie and let her look cute. Not fair to Emmett, I know, but it went with the family theme this year. |
We had to take a trip to Walmart all dressed up in our costumes. There was one family in the checkout line who saw Emmett with his saftey goggles on and pointed and laughed so hard they actually fell on the floor. Their laughter was so loud I almost felt offended... I'm just not used to that kind of pointing and shrieking at my children... but Emmett did look pretty funny/cute, so we just smiled and waved and Emmett held up his "Little Finn Missile" to show off his car. |
Getting ready to go trick or treating for the first time! Casey took Emmett and I stayed behind with Bethany to hand out candy and cider in our driveway. It was a lot of fun. |
The whole family. As you can see, Casey was Frankenstein, I was the Bride of Frankenstein (a nod back to Halloween 5 years ago when I was a much cuter and skinnier Bride of Frankenstein) and of course Emmett is Dr. Frankenstein with Bethany as our "Silly Monster". You can't see more than the top of her head here, of course, since she snuggles down and goes right to sleep whenever I put her in her wrap. |
And here's two more pictures of our "Little B", just because she is so precious. She is getting so big and can finally sit up a little in the bumbo chair. She still eventually ends up slouching to one side of the chair and crying, so we have to help straighten her out now and then, but overall she is doing very well and it has really helped strengthen her neck muscles a lot. |
We finally started using the "stage two" wrapping style for the moby wrap I got for her. She is just getting too big to curl up in a ball like she used to. It makes me a little bit sad, but it's nice to see she is growing as she should. She still loves to be carried around in the wrap and is in heaven and goes straight to sleep whenever I put her in it. It's a wonderful trick to have on those nights where she becomes to fussy to fall asleep easily on her own. |
