Bethany at 9 Weeks
Yesterday we took Bethany to the pediatrician for her 2 month check up. Here are the stats:
Height: 21.7 in (25th %)
Weight: 8 lbs 10 oz (5th %)
Head Circ: 14.5 in (10th %)
She still has reflux, but the doctor increased the dosage of zantac to try to make her more comfortable by neutralizing the acidity of her spit up. In the meantime, we have discovered the most amazing tool in the world for surviving life with a fussy baby: the Moby Wrap! It's a "baby wearing" tool that keeps Bethany cuddled right up against my chest in the position that she loves while freeing up my hands for other things. Excuse the cheesiness of the bathroom mirror photo below, but you have to see how awesome this is:
Since I have started "wearing" Bethany around the house and other places we've not only seen an increase in how much time she is awake and happy, but she has also started sleeping better at night! She usually starts the night by sleeping for 4-5 hours before waking up for her first meal and then generally goes right back to sleep for another three hours. This means I no longer feel like a zombie during the day and have more energy and time to spend on Emmett. I love it!
And just cause it's cute, here's a picture I (almost) caught of Bethany smiling. We waited a long time to see these little smiles, but they are finally starting to appear now and then! Fussy or not, we love our little girl and we are so glad she is a part of our family!
