The Scarlet Pimpernel

I was at the library the other day, trying to find some good movies to keep me company during my end of term grading fest this weekend. It's no small thing to try to browse through movies AND chase Emmett up and down the aisles to stop him from wrecking havoc or running off with some stranger he may wave and grin at. I need to buy my son a leash.

As I was hurrying to grab whatever movie looked just good enough so that we could hurry up and leave, I stumbled upon an old favorite from my childhood, The Scarlet Pimpernel. I haven't seen this movie in such a long time and felt so excited to see it sitting there on the shelf that it was hard not to scream right then.

My excitement to watch this old favorite actually got Casey to watch it with me, which was quite a miraculous event considering the amount of mushy lovey stuff mixed in with the sword fighting. Although he laughed at the way I could quote every line Sir Percy said (accent included), Casey actually finished it with me and, I think, even enjoyed it. And the best thing is, he keeps dropping lines from the film right along with me, in his best aristocratic accent. :)

You know, there are some movies that just bring back memories and make you feel good-- that's one. I think I'm going to have to watch it again before I send it back.
