Even Better...

This is another great example from my student, Morgan, in the rough draft of her report on Hideki Tojo:

"And now I would like to quote myself on something, 'Wow, Hideki Tojo must have had a really nice family' (Morgan, 2009). And he probably did. Or at least I think so."

I don't know if I want to laugh or cry when I see this. I explained to her that she cannot quote herself in her own research paper as a reliable source, and she seemed utterly shocked by the news. "You mean," she asked incredulously, "I have to use my notes in this?"

"Yes. Yes, you do." (Mrs. Sledge, 2009)
