Ocean Melodies

There is an ocean trapped somewhere inside my apartment. Suzette is sure that it's stuck in the refrigerator; Rachel is convinced it's somewhere else. As for me...well I just hope it doesn't escape from whatever it's in and drown us all.

The ocean calls to us with soothing rhythms and promises of white sand and tropical delights. One day I may open a pantry or a closet and find it lurking there. I'll climb inside and dive into the crystal water where a dozen mermaids wait to greet me. I'll build a five story sand castle and live there a hundred years without aging a day. Maybe the ocean is hiding in my desk drawer, and I just haven't opened it the right way.

When Rachel first told me about the ocean I laughed and told her that I'd never heard it speak to me like it had spoken to her. Then one day we all heard it together and my doubts were washed away. I know it's here, somewhere, hiding just out of sight. I hear it even now... it sings, and the voice is strange and beautiful.

Ocean or not, I suspect there's something in the water over there...

It's true! We really can hear the ocean in our apartment...it's a whooshing noise that echos through our apartment and sounds like the tide...we can't figure out where it's coming from.
